Ben Leber is a retired 10yr NFL Linebacker whom played for the San Diego Chargers (’02-’05), Minnesota Vikings (’06-’10), and St. Louis Rams (2011). He currently works in the Minneapolis/St. Paul media market as a radio and television personality.  For radio, he works exclusively for the #1 Sports Radio in the Nation- FM 100.3 KFAN.  He appears on multiple radio shows every week and he is the radio sideline reporter for all the Minnesota Vikings football games.  On television, he is the co-host for Twin Cities Live, a lifestyle program on the ABC affiliate. Twin Cities Live is the #1 afternoon program in the Twin Cities. He also appears on the Vikings Entertainment Network and Fox 9 as a team analyst. 

Ben is a Midwest guy but his time in San Diego brought a little SoCal flavor to his ideals.  From age 2- 12, he lived in Albia, IA; a small town in south-central Iowa.  His father took a job as the High School Principal in Vermillion, SD so he finished his childhood in the Southeast part of South Dakota.  After high school, he accepted a football scholarship to Kansas State University.  He played under the Hall of Fame coach Bill Snyder.  While at KState, he was named to the Big 12 All-Conference team twice and was named a 3rd Team All-American as a Senior.  Ben graduated with a Business Degree, which was completed in 4.5 years.  

In 2002, Ben was drafted by the San Diego Chargers in the 3rd Round (71st overall). He played for the legendary Marty Schottenheimer. In 2006, as a free agent, he signed with the Minnesota Vikings. After 5 years with Minnesota, he finished out his NFL career with the St. Louis Rams in 2011.

Immediately after his playing career he jumped right into the football media world.  From 2013- 2020, he worked for Fox Sports covering college football as a Color Commentator.  He worked specifically in the Big 10, Big 12 and Pac 12.  During that time, he began his role with the Minnesota Vikings and KFAN radio.  He also splits his time working with various charities which includes St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. He is also a speaker who loves to share his playing experience and how it relates to overall business and personal improvement.  He has spoken to:  Optum Health, Minnesota Vikings, Hewing Hotel Group, Baylor University Football, University of Arkansas Football, Best Buy, Agropur and various professional networking groups around the Twin Cities. 

In the Fall of 2020 Ben created a podcast called, Unrestricted with Ben Leber.  He focuses on people and topics that are close to his heart: health/wellness, sports personalities, business professionals.  The goal of the podcast is to educate and entertain using various experts in each field.  The podcast can be found on all major platforms: Apple Podcasts, iHeart Media, Spotify and Google Podcasts.

Ben and his wife, Abby reside in Edina, MN with their 3 kids: Ames- 15, Witten- 12, Wells- 9.  They also have 3 dogs, 2 cats and a guinea pig… oh, and a frog.
